Fluctuations, intermittency and fractal dimensions in multiple production

Creators

Description

Experimentally observed fluctuations in multiple production reveal genuine multiparticle correlations. Their origin (regular or intermittent) can be further investigated. The complicated nature of hadron processes is also demonstrated by high value of the fractal dimension of internal parton motion. Event by event study of multiple production in hadron collisions has shown peculiar features like ring or spike events. The number of events exponentially decreases with increase of the spike's height. But itself, this law proves the existence of primordial multiparticle correlations irreducible to pair-wise coupling. In this paper it can be easily shown if one considers Gaussian fluctuations in one-particle inclusive rapidity spectra
