Formation and growth of semiconductor nanocrystals in organized molecular films
Description
The nucleation and growth kinetics of PbS, CdS, and ZnS nanocrystals formed in-situ in metal stearate Langmuir - Blodgett (LB) films by the treatment in H2S atmosphere are studied. It is shown that the sizes of nanocrystals increase as approx t1/2 at the initial treatment stage. At the final stage, they are approximately constant. A growth model in LB films based on the solid solution diffusional decay is discussed. The effect of nanocrystals on the structure of multilayer LB films is studied as well
