Structural transformation in [Cd(DMSO)6][ClO4]2. Crystal structure in the range of 250-338 K
Description
Structural transformation with symmetry reduction from rhombic up to monoclinic one and with twin formation at 246 K temperature is determined by means of X-ray diffraction investigation of [Cd(DMSO)6]x[ClO4]2, disordered crystals where DMSO is dimethylsulfoxide, within 350-100 K range. Dynamic nature of DMSO - and [ClO4] - group disordering is supposed. Reversible transition to monoclinic plase is linked with frezing of [ClO4] - tetrahedron reorientation mobility
