Three frequency model for the retrieval of vertical profile of soil moisture through passive microwave remote sensing techniques

Three frequency model is developed for the retrieval of soil moisture vertical profile up to a depth of root zone based on statistical inversion technique coupled with apriori information on the general trend of soil moisture variations. The model has been tested with simulated data and experimental data. The model has the flexibility for operational implementation and online processing. (author). 14 refs, 6 figs
