Rotation in the barred spiral NGC 4027

  • 2. Anglo-Australian Observatory, Epping (Australia)

Description

We have observed the motions of the stars and gas along a line through the minor axis of the bar in NGC 4027; there is no sign that the stars counter-rotate rapidly, as had been reported earlier. We compare our velocity measurements with the predictions of an N-body bar model. (author)
