Description
Full text. Due to its nuclear characteristics, feasibility to be obtained and possibility to label a large number of molecules of great importance in nuclear medicine, 99m Tc (T 1/2 = 6.0 h) is still the most widely used radioisotope in the world, concerning nuclear medicine diagnosis in vivo and in vitro. However, for some kind of studies in which Tc tracers are required and a function of the human being must be observed or investigated for along period of time,or even for the development of labeling methods which uses Tc tracers, and still to study certain long time labeling reactions mechanisms involving 99m Tc, its short 6.0 h half life, it is sometimes not adequate to follow the totality of the process, in such cases it is necessary to have a Tc tracer which possess a longer half life to observe the phenomenon as a whole. 95m Tc (T 1/2 = 60 d), due to its nuclear characteristics, have been among the Tc isotopes, the best alternative to overcome these difficulties. In this work a method to produce this radioisotope using a compact cyclotron was studied
