Surface diffusion of refractory metal atoms over polycrystal rhenium
Description
Diffusion of Nb, Ta, Mo, and TsM2A, Mo, and MR47-VP alloy on a Re emitter decreased its eletronic work function. The work function values were detected experimentally at 1673-2273degK and anode voltage <=600V. With the exception of the Re-TsM2A couple, the work function was independent of temperature. Analytical expressions for surface diffusion coefficients on Re are given as a function of temperature and distance from the weld joint
