The Level Scheme of 48Ti and 49Ti as Studied by the Neutron Capture Gamma-Ray Spectra

  • 1. SCK-CEN, Mol (Belgium)

Description

Using an enriched 47Ti target and a natural titanium target, the neutron capture gamma-ray spectrum following the 47Ti (n, γ)48Ti reaction has been studied by straight spectroscopy using Ge(Li) detectors; a level scheme of 48Ti has been established. Valuable information on the neutron capture gamma-ray spectrum following the 48Ti(n, γ)49Ti reaction and on the 49Ti level scheme has also been extracted from the experimental data. The neutron-binding energies of 48Ti and 49Ti are found to be 11627.6 ± 1.3 keV and 8143.3 ± 1.2 keV, respectively. (author)
