Various neutron applications of JRR-3 and establishment of user-friendly facility sharing system

Description
JRR-3 operated by Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) is a 20 MW grade research reactor. It has internal irradiation ports and guided neutron beam is also available. They have been widely used for various academic research and industrial applications in many fields. In these days, JRR-3 has not been operated, because meeting all requirements of a new regulation standard takes long time. The new regulation standard was established after the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011. We schedule to resume operation of JRR-3 in October 2020. This article reports neutron applications such as the internal irradiation, and the guided neutron applications (prompt gamma-ray analysis, neutron radiography and neutron residual stress analysis). Moreover, the efforts of the JRR-3 user 's office to establish a user-friendly facility sharing system (a one-stop office) is also introduced. (author)
