Data Integration: Contexts and Approaches

The need to share and connect between the heterogeneous data sources is increasing more and more, especially with the growing number of data sources from the Web. For decades, research in the field of information systems have focused on the problem of data sharing in sevaral contexts: federated, mediator and more recently in peer-to-peer and Web data (or linked data sources). In this article, we review these approaches by focusing on data integration in the context of the Web
