Consideration on the counting rate and the path length distribution of a telescope composed of two rectangular parallelepiped scintillators
Description
A formulation is presented on the counting rate of a vertical telescope for cosmic rays as described in the title under the condition of finite path length thresholds for both scintillators. On the basis of the results the differential path length distribution function is derived for one scintillator of the telescope. A method of calculation is presented for the case in which the axis of such a telscope is tilted with regard to the vertical line. (author)
