The state-of-the-art and perspectives of semiconductor detector research
Description
The properties of semiconducting materials determining the energy resolution of detectors are briefly reviewed. The basic properties of Si and Ge detectors and binary semiconductor detectors are compared, and their advantages and disadvantages are discussed. Attempts to solve the problem of charge collection are described. (P.L.)
