Creators
Description
The protective shield consists of the lower prismatic wall and the upper oblique wall which in turn consists of a carrier with a mounted plexiglas tank. The lower wall and the carrier are filled with borated polyethylene and the tank is filled with borated water. The materials used help to improve the working conditions of the personnel: borated water is more translucent than glycerol used so far, and polyethylene shows higher neutron capacity than paraffin and is less flammable.
