Nature of the phase transition in a non-linear O(2)3 model

Description
The gas of topological excitations is examined in the lattice non-linear O(2)3 model. It is argued that the phase transition between broken and unbroken symmetries can be identified with that of three-dimensional scalar electrodynamics, strongly suggesting that the transition is first order.
