Determination of 238U and 210Pb in environmental samples using a low energy gamma spectrometry

Description
The influence of a sample geometry in the counting efficiency aiming to reduce the value of detection limit for determination of 238U and 210Pb in environmental samples using a low energy gamma spectrometry is studied. The use and performance of intrisic germanium detector, as well as the detection limits for 210Pb and 238U in a sediment samples are analysed. (M.J.C.)

Estuda-se a influencia da geometria da amostra na eficiencia de contagem, visando atimizar o metodo de determinacao de 238U e 210Pb em amstras ambientais por espectrometria gama de baixa energia. Analisam-se a utilizacao e o desempenho do detector de germanio intriseco, como tambem o limite de detecao alcancado para 210Pb e 238U em uma amostra de sedimento. (M.J.C.)Additional details
