Atomic structure, equation of state and radiative properties of hot plasmas

Description

This habilitation thesis presents the topics on which I have worked since my PhD. All belong to the field of atomic physics of hot plasmas and follow a guideline: the calculation of the equation of state, the electrical conductivity and the radiative opacity of these plasmas, which constitute data necessary for the interpretation or the prediction, by a computer code, of their hydrodynamic evolution in the presence of radiation, whether in an astrophysical context or for studies related to nuclear fusion. Beyond this goal, the underlying purpose is to understand the intrinsic properties of the complex atomic structure and spectra of hot plasmas. (author)
