Investigation into phisicochemical properties of alloyed synthetic diamonds
- 1. Moskovskij Inst. Tonkoj Khimicheskoj Tekhnologii (USSR)
Description
Synthetic diamonds grown in the presence of boride and carbide compounds of rare earths were subjected to X-ray and structural-morphological analyses. The following has been established: by adding the boron-containing compounds of rare earths to the charge, diamonds have been obtained possessing a perfect crystalline structure with enhanced mechanical resistance and an increased thermal stability. Boron enters the lattice of the synthetic diamond and is statistically distributed throughout the crystal volume
