Thermal neutron monitor
Description
The thermal neutron monitor constitutes two semi-cylinders of boron carbide B4C and graphite 1.5 mm in height and 8 mm in diameter. Differential chromel-Copel thermocouple junctions are positioned in the semi-cylinders. Thermo-neutron monitoring in the reactor chamber is performed by heating the semi-cylindrical sample of B4C enriched by 10 B. The thermal neutron monitor sensitivity is equal to 3.36 x 10-12 mV x s x cm2. 2 refs., 1 fig
