Formation of hydrogen bond involving uranyl oxygen atom in adducts of uranyl dipivaloylmethane

Description

IR spectra of adducts of bis-2, 2, 6, 6, -tetramethyl-heptane-3, 5-dionate of uranyl (1) with H2O, C2H50H, t-C4H9OH, tetrahydrofurante (THF) of the 1:1 composition, of forms containing approximately 40% 18O in the uranyl group of adduct solutions in benzol and of solutions of adduct 1 mixtures with THP and dioctyl sulfoxide and phenol in the range of frequencies of valent oscillations of uranyl and hydroxyl groups. On the basis of shifts and frequency splittings observed, the conclusion is made on the formation of the intermolecular hydrogen bond with the participation of oxygen atoms of the uranyl group and hydrogen atoms of proton-donor molecules of the neighbouring complexes. The energy of hydrogen bond of phenol with the uranyl group in the 1 adduct with THP is found to be 16 kJ/mol according to a low frequency shift of the νsub(OH) band of phenol (solutions in CCl4). The spectra of the visible range of the above solutions prove the presence of the asymmetric uranyl group in complexes 1 with a hydrogen bond
