Development of precision measurement technology for nuclear fuels
Description
As an aid to advanced nuclear fuel R and D activities, the nuclear fuel test laboratory performs precision measurements for CANFLEX fuels by utilizing various M and TE which are being maintained in the laboratory. Detailed description of the measurement in this report establishes procedures of the measurement and assures consistence in its practice and reliability of the data. As for the measurement method, procedures and method of measurements for seven items including 'measurement of length between end plates' and 'measurement of end plate profile' as well as operation procedure of related M and TE are described. Besides, developments of data processing software and jigs are described. The software is for automatic processing of measured values of bearing pad heights. The software facilitates the reduction of work hours and labor fatigue by processing the data acquired from the digital gauge automatically. The two developed jigs are used with the laser measurement system for the measurement of bearing pad replica and fuel channel replica. (author). 2 tabs., 18 figs
