Lanthanum-copper oxide system as a strongly correlated Fermi liquid

Description

Some properties of the La2CuO/sub 4-y/ oxide system are discussed in terms of those of a correlated Fermi liquid. The author suggests that, for small oxygen deficiency, this system has a thermal Mott transition at a temperature T/sub M/ /approximately/ 200-300 K. Below T/sub M/, the Fermi liquid tends to metamagnetism, with a susceptibility that increases quadratically with T, consistently with experimental findings
