Preparation and properties of HgBa2CuO4+δ superconducting phase

Description
The process of HgBa2CuO4+δ (1201) compound synthesis from HgOBaO2 and CuO mixture is investigated. It is shown that the phase formation character in Hg-Ba-Cu-O system and 1201 phase critical parameters depend on the synthesis conditions. It is detected that 1201 phase is metastable under standard conditions. Textured HgBa2CuO4+δ samples are produced. 6 refs.; 2 figs
