Apparatus for recording signals from neutrino-calorimeter drift chambers

  • 1. Inst. of High-Energy Physics, Serpukhov,

Description

This paper describes an electronic instrument for collecting data from a system of drift chambers created at the Institute of High Energy Physics for an experimental neutrino calorimeter. The apparatus contains amplifier-shapers, 24-input time-to-number converter modules, which provide a quantization step of 10 nsec/ count, and a computer-controlled timer-generator. The system apparatus, with 1500 signal wires, is in eight ''Vektor'' crates and can record up to 64 signals from each plane of a drift chamber in one pass of the accelerator beam
