Effect of a reflector material on the neutron flux in a trap

Description
Experimental and calculated results are given of the effect of reflector material (Be, graphite, H20, Zr, steel, Al) on the n flux in a trap. Experiments were carried out on a critical assembly of cylindrical shape with replaceable reflectors. A comparison was carried out at the same dimensions and compn. of the active zone. In the experiments themselves, reflectors of Be, H2O, and stainless steel were used. The quality of the reactor with traps is expressed in parametric form as a function of the ratio of the metal volume to volume of moderator in the active zone. This dependence is illustrated by the calculated results
