The L3 fastbus data acquisition system

Description

We present the overall structure of the FASTBUS data acquisition system of the L3 experiment at LEP. Particular emphasis is given to the description of the hardware configuration, the software to merge data from all subdetectors and the final event structure. The system was successfully used during the LEP physics runs and has proved its reliability
