The nuclear steam supply systems of the new ''N4'' PWR units

Description
Since the startup of the first French 900 MWe PWR at Fessenheim, in all 54 PWR units with Framatome NSSSs have been commissioned in France: 34 of the 900 MWe net electrical output class and 20 of the 1300 MWe class. The last unit of the latter series, was commissioned this year at the Golfech site in southwest France. This article presents the most significant characteristics of the new ''N4'' series nuclear steam supply systems. The first two N4 PWR units are expected to begin operating at Chooz in 1995. (author)
