Patent
A differential scanning calorimeter with thermally coupled cells
Description
A new large-size differential calorimeter has been designed that dissociates heat detection and thermal transfers, and achieves a differential thermostat which creates, at the same time, a stable and fixed temperature environment around the calorimetric cells, and a stable and permanent temperature gradient between the cells and the outside. The thermal coupling between the measuring and reference cells is carried out by the means of various materials or fluids, in order to reduce the thermal inertia of the system. Application to large volume samples, such as organic or nuclear wastes. 4 refs., 4 figs
