Preliminary results on operation of the FT Tokamak at cryogenic temperature

Description

The FT Tokamak has been operated at a toroidal field up to 80 kG and plasma current of 600 kA. First experimental results show that the electron energy replacement time increases with electron density and the average electron temperature increases with current as Isub(p)sup(2/3). Total energy containment time of 25 ms has been reached at a peak density of 3 X 1014cm-3. (Auth.)
