Description

Nonlinear crack fundamentals were reviewed. A new approach to the growth and stability analysis of small amounts of crack advance in the presence of large scale plastic yielding, and the limited success achieved in employing a single basic near-tip fracture criterion in the analysis of both initiation and growth under general conditions of yielding are discussed
