Analysis of connection of geomagnetic bays with geomagnetic activity and an interplanetary magnetic field in 1968

Considered here is the relationship between the geomagnetic bays and the auroral activity, the vertical component of interplanetary magnetic field of IMF Zsub(SE) and the day course of the magnetic activity. An analysis is made of the distribution of bays in the course of the year in connection with the sector structure of IMF. A trend has been discovered for the occurrence of geomagnetic bays at Zsub(SE)<0. A stable connection has been found between value Zsub(SE) and the indices of the geomagnetic activity in the course of the year. asub(p)-index at the start of the geomagnetic bays does not coincide with the average daily index of Asub(p) of the day when a bay is being registered
