Photoreactions of furocumarins with membrane constituents

Description
A fatty acid -4,5',8-trimethylpsoralen photoproduct was isolated by HPLC technique and was identified fluorimetrically. Both reactants have become covalently linked upon irradiation with long-wave ultraviolet light (365 nm). The participation of singlet oxygen and generation of hydroperoxydes in the furocoumarin - sensitized photoreaction of unsaturated fatty acids were found of subordinated importance. (author)
