Recovery of sludge and bio-wastes: origins and uses. Synthesis and recommendations from the 2017 Astee Fall meetings
Description
On the 14 and 15 November 2017, the Scientific and Technical Association for Water and the Environment (Astee) organized its second annual event in Colmar on the recovery of sludge and bio-wastes: origins and uses. The location of this event was not randomly selected. Indeed, Colmar has an experience of household-bio-waste collection, a voluntary regional initiative. Likewise, since 1989, wastewater treatment sludge is recovered in that region. After presenting the current issues and regulations, the event intended for local authorities highlighted lessons learned from operational experiences on sludge and bio-waste recovery. Other information was shared on synergies, success parameters, and recommendations for implementation. (authors)
