Energy dependence of the effective mass in finite nuclei

  • 1. Paris-11 Univ., 91 - Orsay (France). Div. de Physique Theorique

Description

The enhancement of the effective mass near the Fermi energy is calculated by means of the dispersion relation which connects the real part of the optical-model potential to its imaginary part. The latter is taken from empirical data. The calculated width of the enhancement peak is equal to 20 MeV for medium-light nuclei. (orig.)
