Plasma acoustic waves in bounded semimetals
Description
Excitation of acoustic waves in a semiinfinite bismuth plate placed in a homogeneous electric field perpendicular to a plate surface has been considered. Specular and diffuse reflections of electrons and holes from the surface are considered. An asymptotic type of the field at large distances from a boundary has been found. Experimental possibilities of observing acoustic plasmons are discussed
