Variation of the electrical and electrochemical properties of La0.8Sr0.2MnO3 and La0.7Sr0.3CoO3 during their interaction with molten lithium and potassium carbonates
- 1. Ural'skoe Otdelenie RAN, Inst. Vysokotemperaturnoj Ehlektrokhimii, Ekaterinburg (Russian Federation)
Description
Potentiality of using the perovskite-like structure oxides in the title as cathode materials of a carbonate fuel element has been considered. Their solubility in the melt Li2CO3-K2CO3 has been measured, being 62:38 mol.%. Dynamics of variations in electric conductivity and electrochemical activity in the course of interaction between the material and the melt has been considered. On reaching steady-state conditions, the values of the double layer exchange current and capacity make up 160 mA/cm2 and 150 μF/cm2 for cobaltite, 60 mA/cm2 and 160 μF/cm2 for manganite respectively
