Description
Paramagnetic defect centres are detected by electron spin resonance (EPR) in beryllium oxide ceramics sintered at different temperatures under different conditions (air, vacuum and hydrogen). From the EPR results, the structure of the centres is deduced. The volatility of some of the impurities with sintering temperature is studied by EPR intensity measurements in a quantitative manner.
