Description
For automatic monitoring and control of pressure and temperature of Kroll's reduction of zirconium chloride, the PLC system has been designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned for one reduction unit at ZSP. The unit has been successfully in use on line with PLC for about one hundred batches. The safety features have been ascertained for regular use of PLC with provision of manual overide, in case of any malfunctioning. The paper is the review of performance and functioning of the system to include the additional features of the PLC for the remaining four such units. (author)
