Investigation of metaling polyimide film's mechanical properties, irradiated by electrons

Experimental researches on electron irradiation influence upon polyimide metaling films' mechanical properties are carried out. Samples represent strips with length 50 mm, width 10 mm and thickness 70 μm. Irradiation of polyimide films was carried out on electron accelerator ALU-6 with energy 2 MeV, density of beam 0.5 μA/cm2. Tests of mechanical properties were carried on break machine after irradiation. Break load, break stress and relative lengthening have being defined. In the result of examination ir was determined, that such characteristics as flexibility is improving on metaling films on the base of benzo-phenon-tetra-carbolic acid dianhydride and diaminodiphenyl-oxide dianhydride. It is revealed, that metaling of films conducts to small increase of break stress and relative lengthening approximately in 15-20 %. At first the load break and break stress grow up in dependence from irradiation dose, and achieve the maximum and then fall down, and relative lengthening is decreasing
