Dismantling, an opportunity for partnership and export

169 nuclear reactors have been decommissioned worldwide and are waiting for their dismantling which makes dismantling business expectations high: about 200 billions euros by 2050. Main players like EDF and Orano have developed partnerships with industrialists in order to propose a complete offer from dismantling and demolition to the management of wastes. For instance EDF, through its branch Cyclife France (previously named Socodei) has signed various partnerships with the British Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (UK) and with companies like Fortum (Finland), Sogin (Italy), or Veolia (France) and can use facilities for the processing of wastes in France (Marcoule), in England (Workington) and in Sweden (Nukoeping). As for Orano, it has signed agreements with Northstar (US) to be more present on the US market and hopes to win opportunities in countries like Germany and Japan where several reactors have been shut down definitely.
