Investigation of ZnI2-KI-C3H7NO system by ultrasonic method

Description
Applicability of the ultrasonic impulses for the research of complex formation in the solutions was demonstrated using ZnI2-KI-C3H7NO system as an example. Changing the solvent structure during complexing was studied. It was determined that ion solvation numbers reflect electrostriction influence of ions on the surrounding solvent moleculas. The maximum effect on dimethylformamide (C3H7NO) was made by the complex compound KZnI3 acting as destrictor and the sound speed decrease was the highest in its solution. Possibility of using adiabatic compressibility of the solutions for complexing studies is analysed
