Method for determination of rare earths content

Description
A nuclear-physical method of rare earth determination, permitting to decrease the detection threshold, has been developed. The method consists in irradiation of analyzed and calibration samples by accelerated ions (4020Ca) and registration of characteristic X-radiation of certain elements (CE). The charge, atomic mass and ion energy are selected with regard to condition of CE nuclear level. Coulomb excitation realization, and K-series radiation of CE is recorded. The method suggested ensures a decrease in detection threshold by an order and can be more easily realized from engineering viewpoint. The given method was realized for rare earth content determination in carbon. 1 fig.; 1 tab
