Research and development of fast breeder reactor, 3

Description

Reactor physics R and Ds cover researches on core and shielding. In the field of core, the present goal is to develop a large, high burnup core, and R and Ds such as core analysis method development and the JUPITER program have been performed. In the field of shielding, the purpose is to develop a compact design of shields and to reduce the mass of shields, and R and Ds such as measurement and analysis of radiation levels at 'JOYO' and the JASPER program have been performed. In addition, started as relatively new themes were a study on fast reactor core loaded with fuels other than oxide fuel, a study on the TRU incineration and criticality safety researches on FBR recycle. Results of R and Ds on fast reactor physics performed in PNC and the state of the art of technology are presented. (author)
