Hydrophilic membrane as a third component in light/heavy water separation process
- 1. Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology, Warsaw (Poland)
- 2. Institut za Nuklearne Nauke Boris Kidric, Belgrade (Yugoslavia)
Description
The results of investigations of permeation of a light/heavy water mixture (50% D2O) through cellulosic membranes are presented. The influence of the hydrophilic membrane and the addition of a salt (KJ) on the relative volatility factor α is evaluated. The results have been compared with the literature data for the distillation of heavy/light water solutions and the pervaporation conducted for low concentrations of heavy water. 10 refs., 7 figs., 1 tab.
