ZrO2 powders for advanced and engineered ceramics
Description
Attention is given to chemical methods for the production of zirconia powders, which encompass neutralization and coprecipitation, hydrolysis, hydrothermal processes, and the decomposition of salt solutions. An understanding of zirconium solution chemistry is important in both the synthesis of zirconia and in subsequent applications, such as advanced heat engines. An account is presently given of the processing chain of refining, powder synthesis, and consolidation into finished structures for zirconia ceramics. 33 references
