Description

Physico-chemical and some physical properties of (PbTe)1-x(Eu2Te3)x (x ≤ 0.14) solid solutions are investigated. Eu2Te3 solubility boundaries in lead monotelluride are determined by DTA and X-ray radiographic analysis methods and by measuring microhardness, electric properties of specimens. All effects along the DTA curve are endothermal and reversible. Two effects at 890-750 and 960-840 deg C are detected in all alloys except PbTe. The first effect corresponds to solidus, and the second one - to liquidus of PbTe-Eu2Te3 system. Sharp decrease of heat conductivity (up to 1 mol% Eu2Te3) can be explained by decreasing a lattice part of heat conductivity, which plays a substantial role in comparison with an electron part of heat conductivity
