Stable resistive Alfven spectrum

Description
The effect of resistivity on the stable part of the Alfven spectrum of a plasma is described with reference to a slab model and an exactly solvable cylindrical model. Toroidal effects are examined by using a numerical code, SPECTOR. This also enables a study of the damping of toroidicity-induced Alfven eigenmodes due to resistivity. (orig.)
