Description
The laser fluorometer developed in 1987 has been used in real circumstances for trace uranium analysis. In this year, we improved the instrument to be able to apply in analytical circumstances of remote measurement using optical fiber. The N2 laser beam and the resulting fluorescence light could be successfully transmitted through quartz-made optical fiber. The wavelength resolution and the fluorescence decay time resolution induced by pulsed N2 laser were used to the uranium fluorescence analyses of the raffinate sample in nuclear conversion process and the urine bioassays. The methods will be practically applicable to the related industrial purpose. The influences of sample temperature variation to the fluorescence characteristics were studied in the chemical points of view. (Author)
