Thanks to a collaborative effort between the industry, the regulatory body, the research institutions and the universities, in an international cooperative framework, research on severe accidents has been carried out in Spain in the last 14 years and is continuing, with projects covering a wide variety of topics, from individual phenomena to fullscope experiments, with a presence in the most significant experimental programs internationally.
