Description

The way Harold Smith tells it, the evolution of the CANDU system was very much a team effort. But every team needs a captain and in him the team found one with the practical drive and ability to convert a scientific concept into one of the most successful engineering enterprises ever achieved in Canada. In 1986 over half of Ontario's electricity was generated by CANDU reactors. The vision, pertinacity and plain hard work of Harold A. Smith must receive much of the credit for this remarkable achievement
