Description
Minor actinides separation processes were studied for PARC (Partitioning Conundrum-key) process, a PUREX-based one cycle reprocessing process including partitioning function. In a flow sheet TBP extraction test on spent-fuel with burn-up of 8 GWd.t-1, 96 % of neptunium extracted together with uranium and plutonium was selectively stripped from the loaded solvent by a reductive separation technique, and 95 % of technetium was stripped by a high acid scrubbing technique. These separation processes for PARC were demonstrated. Americium fractions, which were collected in a column chromatographic experiment on a novel adsorbent, impregnating tri-octyl di-glycol amide (TODGA), contained lanthanides. Bis (5, 6-dialkyl-1,4,5-triazin-3-yl) pyridine) impregnating novel adsorbent selectively adsorbed americium in batch experiments. It is possible to develop a chromatographic separation process of americium and curium from fission products in high-level raffinate with these two novel adsorbents. (authors)
